Kathryn Trexler Monroe's Obituary
Kathryn Trexler Monroe, age 87 formerly of Salisbury, NC passed away Sunday, August 21, 2016 at the Big Elm Retirement & Nursing Center, Kannapolis, NC.? Her service will be at 3:00 PM Wednesday, August 24, 2016 in the Stanly Gardens of Memory Mausoleum Chapel, Albemarle, NC with the Rev. Bill Hallman and Rev. Jason Pearce officiating.? Intombment will follow in the Stanly Gardens of Memory Mausoleum.? The family will receive friends at the cemetery mausoleum chapel from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Wednesday prior to the service.
Mrs. Monroe was born on October 19, 1928 in Granite Quarry, NC to the late Braxton?Cleveland Trexler and Etta Mae Miller Trexler and was a graduate of Granite Quarry High School class of 1948.? She was last employed with the Rowan County Senior?Center.? Mrs. Monroe was a member of Friendship Baptist Church of Salisbury and the Adult Sunday School Class.
Mrs. Monroe was preceded in death by her husband, Donald J. Monroe. She was also preceded in death by four sisters, Eva Drye, Ethel Honbarrier, Ruby Leach and Virginia Trexler and two brothers, Robert Trexler and Lovie Trexler all preceded her in death.
Survivors include one daughter Karen Monroe Rakes of Landis, NC?Grandson, Ryan Rakes and wife Jennifer of Concord, NC, great grandson, Raiden Rakes and great granddaughter Rynsley Rakes.? Also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews.
