Kathleen McConnell Pion's Obituary
Kathleen McConnell Pion, 73, of Albemarle passed away on November 10, 2021 at Atrium Health Cabarrus. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Kathleen was born June 5, 1948 in Sac City Iowa to the late Elmo Howard McConnell and Iris Duitsman McConnell. She served in the Air National Guard, was an active member of the Amvets Post 910 and the GWRRA-Lake Tillery Wings.
Mrs. Pion is survived by her husband of 56 years Gerard Paul Pion; daughters: Teresa Shepherd (Darryl) of Kannapolis, Jennifer Upright (Mike) of Troutman; son: Gerard Pion Jr. (Melanie of Albemarle; grandchildren: Sarah Pion (Marco) of Albemarle, John Pion of Albemarle, Rebecca Moor of Salisbury, Danielle Boone of Albemarle, Samantha Upright of Statesville, Elizabeth Stephens (Nicholas) of Statesville, Nathaniel Pion of Albemarle; 7 great-grandchildren; and two siblings. She was preceded in death by great-granddaughter Jolene Carter and two siblings.
