Karen Ann Dunlap's Obituary
Ms. Karen Ann Fisher Dunlap passed away in her residence in Midland, N.C. on Sunday, May 28th, 2017 after a long illness.
She was born in Tampa, Florida and spent her childhood in Lumberton, N.C., graduated from Lumberton High School, and attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She always had a sense of humor, adventure, and curiosity wherever she went. She spent some time studying in Barcelona, Spain. She became a flight attendant with U.S. Air and lived in Charlotte, N.C., where she was a member of the Myers Park Presbyterian Church. She traveled the U.S. and spent time in England, Germany, Russia, Finland, Switzerland, France, Hawaii, New Zealand, and Australia, where she learned to scuba dive.
She was a much loved mother, daughter, and sister. She was an avid reader, had a flair for decorating, was sensitive, perceptive, caring, incredibly intelligent, and a lover of animals.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dr. Carl M. Fisher. She is survived by her two daughters; Katherine-Ann Fletcher Dunlap and Zoe Elizabeth Dunlap; her mother, Katherine Gard Fisher; her brothers Robert M. Fisher and Donald M. Fisher.
A private memorial service will be held in Lumberton, N.C.
