June Gibson Howell, age 68, of Monroe, NC, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. A Celebration of June's Life will be held 5:00 PM, Sunday, March 3, 2019, in the Da Read Obituary
I just heard of June's passing. She and my mother were room mates while they were in college. Although I called her Aunt June then, she became my Aunt June when she married Randall and my mother married his brother Mike. Those are times I will always remember with great fondness and love.
I am sorry to hear of the loss of your dear family member. We certainly do not like seeing our loved ones pass away and neither does God (Ezekiel 18:32). In the future God has a resurrection for our loved ones that have passed away so we can be reunited with them once again (Acts 24:15). I hope these scriptures are encouraging to you and your family.
June was a strong leader with a gentle heart. I am honored to have worked with her at Sardis Elementary. She gave everyone a sense of acceptance and appreciation. My heart felt condolences to her family.

I worked in the office while June was at Waxhaw Elementary. Her quick witted humor stands out in my mind, I can still hear the hilariously funny stories that June loved to tell, never a dull moment when she was near. My middle son was a student in her class, and I can say she truly cared for her kids. She would spend "after school" hours to tutor as she cared and wanted them to succeed. Thanks for the memories June, you were a very special lady. You are in the arm of Jesus now!Â

What a blessing it was to know June. A smile comes to my face every time I think of her. June was a person of true love for her husband, kids and grandkids. Having known her for so many years the love and pride she had for them just made her bubble over and brought happiness to all around her. The wonderful person that she was will truly be missed. To June's family, I am so sorry for your loss. I think of her wit and humor and a tad of sass. I will remember her fondly with our crazy antics at Cochrane Jr. High. May God's peace surround you mightily.
So many wonderful memories of June. She made everyone around her feel good. She loved her family. She loved her friends and She loved fried chicken. She was such a great friend to so many. She will be sorely missed. I will miss that laugh and awesome spirit! There will never be another June!
