Julius "Eddie" Wilson,'s Obituary
Julius Edwin "Eddie" Wilson Jr., age 76, of Albemarle, NC passed away peacefully on Monday, May 13, 2019.
Eddie was born to the late J.E. Wilson, Sr. and Maude Talbert Wilson on October 21, 1942 and was the oldest of three children. He was a graduate of Albemarle High School. Eddie was a lover of people and animals and would do anything for a friend in need. He loved going places and meeting new people and formed lifelong friendships with many that he met during his travels. Eddie spent many years working at his family's business, Wilson Farm Supply, Inc., but his true love was the open road. He drove a truck out of high school then traveled the Southeast selling farm equipment for Snell Fence Systems and Aerotech. He ended his working career back in a big truck.
Eddie is survived by three daughters: Catherine (Kenny) Johnson of Wadesboro, NC; Helen (Tim) Melton of Stanfield, NC and Elizabeth (Gideon) Cox of Albemarle. He is also survived by eight grandchildren: Kyle (Sierra) Johnson, Olivia (Devin) Wilson, Elliott (Summer) Johnson, Ethan Johnson, Chasity Cox, David Cox, TJ (Katherine) Melton and Branden Melton and five great grandchildren: Kaidyn Johnson, Rose Wilson, Ivy Johnson, Justin Melton and Edward Melton. Eddie is also survived by a sister, Elizabeth Wilson, of Albemarle, and brother, Tom (Cindy) Wilson, of Raleigh, NC and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, that contributions be made to Hospice of Union County or Stanly County or the charity of donor's choice.
A service celebrating Eddie's life will be held on Friday, May 17th, at 12 noon in the chapel at the funeral home. Visitation will be one hour before the service.
Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care of Albemarle is serving the Wilson family.
