Julia Crain's Obituary
Mrs. Julia V. Crain, age 91, of Marshville, NC, passed away on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at her residence.
Services to honor Julia’s life will be held on Friday, June 4, 2021 at 1:00PM in the Sanctuary of Philadelphia Baptist Church, 5709 Philadelphia Church Road, Marshville, NC 28103, officiated by Rev. Caroll Anthony. Interment will immediately follow in the Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery.Prior to the funeral service, Mrs. Vaughn will lie in state in the Sanctuary, beginning at noon.
Julia was born February 24, 1930, in Greenville, SC, a daughter of the late Isadore Vaughn and Lilly Jeter Vaughn.
Those left to carry on Julia’s memory include her son, Michael Crain of Aiken, SC; her daughter, Michelle Page (Robbie Wright) of Marshville, NC; Five Grandchildren, Julie Eastin (Jeremie) of Aiken, SC; Jonathan Crain (Kriston) of Lugoff, SC; Melissa Thomas of Marshville, NC; Miranda Dunn (C.J.) of Fort Sill, OK; Mark Thomas (Tess) of Killeen, TX; and 9 greatgrandchildren. Julia is also survived by her brother, Rev. Melvin Vaughn of Duncan, SC; and her sister, Dorothy Hannon of CA.
In addition to her parents, Julia was preceded in death and reunited in eternal life with her husband, John Dean Crain; her brother, I.M. Vaughn Jr.; her sisters, Janie Vaughn and Louise Compton; her brother-in-law, Lewis Hannon; and her sister-in-law’s, Ruth Vaughn, Edna Vaughn.
Although flowers are appreciated, the family requests donations in Julia’s honor be made to Philadelphia Baptist Church.
