Juanita Harris Collingwood's Obituary
Juanita Harris Collingwood, 98, of Mount Gilead, NC, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2023 in her daughter's home. Her Celebration of Life Service will be 1PM Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care Chapel of Albemarle with Rev. Delane Burris, Rev. Harry Dale Collingwood, and Minister Bob Gruver officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 11:30AM-12:45PM at the funeral home prior to the service.
Mrs. Collingwood was born June 12, 1924 in Stanly County, NC to the late Daniel Harris and Mittie Peeler Harris. Her hobbies included painting, cooking, ceramics, and gardening. Juanita was a member of Fairview Baptist Church in Albemarle.
Juanita is survived by a daughter: Robin Collingwood Burleson (Steve) of Mount Gilead, NC; son: Harry Dale Collingwood (Kathy Cooke) of Troy, NC; grandchildren: Eric Burleson (Michelle) of Apex, NC, Kristin Colvin (Curtis) of Albemarle, NC, Blair Hesley (Boomer) of Palmer, AK, Kimberly Allen (Tommy) of Locust, NC, Dale Jordan Collingwood (Tabitha) of Aquadale, NC; great grandchildren: Julia Burleson, Isabella Burleson, Hailey Colvin, Kimber Colvin, Emma Hesley, Jack Hesley, Harlow Allen, Clark Allen; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her late husband, Harry Earl Collingwood, Jr. and her first husband Paul David Shaver; sisters: Jewel Elliott, Christine Lynch; brother: Melvin Harris.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Stanly and the Uwharrie at 960 N First Street, Albemarle, NC 28001.
