"JP" Pickler's Obituary
Joseph Plyler “JP” Pickler passed away at home on October 1, 2021 at the age of 87.
He is predeceased by his parents, John and Janie Eldora Pickler, and siblings Heath Pickler, Kathleen Dutton, Zelma Hall, Ann Almond, Johnnye Thompson.
He is survived by his loving wife Peggy of 63 years.
JP is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Jodi Underwood (Greg) of New London, NC, and grandchildren, Hannah Deal (Chas) of Huntersville, NC, Blake Underwood (Jenni) of Huntersville, NC, Meredith Underwood of New London, NC, great-grandson, Reese Plyler Deal of Huntersville, NC, and sister, Janell Hawkins (Tom) of New London, NC.
JP was born in New London, NC on February 1st, 1934. He graduated from New London School in 1952. He worked as a salesman for Bowers Implement (Quality Equipment) for 72 years. JP enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and most recently his great- grandson. He also enjoyed riding his gator and skid steer throughout trails on his land. He cherished Sundays with his church family at Kendalls Baptist Church.
The visitation will be held at Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care’s Albemarle Chapel on Monday Oct. 4th from 6:oo pm – 7:45 pm
The funeral service will be held at Kendalls Baptist Church on October 5, at 2:00 pm. Interment to follow in the church’s cemetery.
