Joyce Ann Smith Whitley, age 78 of Albemarle, NC passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at her home.? Her memorial service will be at 6:30 PM Friday, September 16, 2016 at the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel, Albemarle, NC with the Rev. Bryan Burris officiating.? The family will receive friends on Friday from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM.
Mrs. Whitley was born on October 8, 1937 in Stanly County, NC to the late Claude Lee Smith and Blanche Elizabeth Davis Smith.? She was a graduate of Albemarle High School and retired employee of Allison Manufacturing.? She attended Freedom Holiness Church.? Mrs. Whitley loved her family and enjoyed a simply loving life style.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ronald I. Whitley.? Survivors include two sons;
Terry Wayne Whitley and David Eric Whitley both of Albemarle, NC, one daughter; Lisa
Whitley Morton of Albemarle, NC, one brother, Jimmy Lee Smith of Albemarle, NC, one sister, Janette Smith Chance of? Norwood, NC, three grandchildren, David Michael Morton, Joseph David Whitley and Jessica Dawn Whitley, three great-grandchildren, Riley Elizabeth Morton, Cooper Douglas Morton and Colton David Whitley.
