Joyce Connell Weaver's Obituary
Joyce Gaye Connell Weaver, 78, of Norwood, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 3, 2025, at her granddaughter’s home, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on August 1, 1947, in Stanly County, Joyce was the daughter of the late Everette and Rachel Connell. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ralph Leroy Weaver, on February 21, 2021.
For many years, Joyce worked as a bus driver with Stanly County Schools, where she was known for her friendly smile and caring nature toward the children she transported. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend whose love, encouragement, and warmth left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. Her family remembers her as a great mom and grandmother, and her friends will forever cherish her kindness and joyful spirit.
Joyce is lovingly survived by her children, Brenda Nance (Darrell), Joey Weaver, Sharon Truckenmiller (James), Wendy Luther and numerous grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Stanly Funeral & Cremation Care of Albemarle. A graveside service, officiated by Pastor Ron Loflin, will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at Anderson Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
