Joyce Glover Morton's Obituary
Joyce Glover Morton, 82, of Albemarle, NC passed away Wednesday June 14, 2017 in her sleep. Her funeral will be Saturday June 24 at 2 PM in the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lee Shelnutt officiating. Burial will follow the service in Fairview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1 PM till 2 PM at Stanly Funeral Home.
Born May 17, 1935 in Lacoochee, FL, she was the daughter of the late James Martin Glover and Myrtle Baker Glover. Joyce was a member of Westminster Reformed Presbyterian Church in Albemarle. She worked as a bookkeeper for Ivey Sales Co. in Albemarle where she retired.
Joyce is preceded in death by her husband, Rayvon Adam Morton and two brothers, Jim and Colon Glover. She is survived by sons Ray(Karen) Morton and Allan(Shay) Morton, daughter Rosemary Peterson, brothers Wes Glover, Bud Glover, Nate Glover, and Sam Glover, sisters, Wanda Grace, Dolly Garrett, Sadie Wilcox, Faye Gore, and Geri Herrin. Other survivors include 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Westminster Reformed Presbyterian Church at 1804 Badin Rd, Albemarle, NC 28002, Hospice of Stanly & the Uwharrie at 960 N 1st St, Albemarle, NC 28001, or Bethany Woods Nursing Home & Rehab 33426 Old Salisbury Rd, Albemarle, NC 28001.
