Joshua Barbee Jr.'s Obituary
It is with deepest sadness that we announce Mr. Joshua Harley Barbee Jr., age 17, of Monroe, NC, passed away Friday, March 5, 2021, at Atrium Health Main.
A private memorial gathering for family and friends will be held in the H. Vann Davis III Memorial Chapel of Davis Funeral Service.
Josh was born July 8, 2003, in Union County, NC, a son of Joshua Harley Barbee Sr. and Cathy Carter Mills. A beloved brother, son, grandson and uncle, he had the ability to make even the worst day better. Remembered as a jokester who could light up any room, he was a friend to anybody that needed one. An avid sneaker collector (especially his Jordans), he was known to give his shoes to those less fortunate. Josh worked at Cookout, and enjoyed spending time with his friends, fishing with his father, and riding four wheelers. Strong-willed but also kind, he will be remembered by the family and friends that loved him deeply until the end of time.
Josh is survived by his mother, Cathy Mills (Ryan), his father, Josh Barbee Sr. (Kellie), his sister, Nikki Parker (Dustin), his brother, Ayden Barbee, his stepsister, Jazlyn Deese, his grandmother, Darlene Carter, grandparents Diane and Donnie Mills, his nieces, Braxleigh Sitterly, Everleigh Parker, and many friends.
Josh was preceded in death by his grandfather, Alexander Carter, his grandfather, Paul Barbee, and his grandmother, Elaine Donovan.
