Joseph (Joe) Lawson Griffin, Sr.'s Obituary
Mr. Joseph (Joe) Lawson Griffin Sr., age 85, of Monroe, North Carolina, passed away Thursday (May 2, 2013) at Hospice House of Union County.
A Funeral Service to Celebrate his Life is being conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday (May 4, 2013) at Mountain Springs Baptist Church, officiated by Reverend Phil McLean.
Interment will follow in the Griffin Family Cemetery.
Mr. Griffin was born on July 23, 1927, in Union County, North Carolina, a son of the late Jesse F. Griffin and Jessie Collins Griffin.
Mr. Griffin was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie Richardson Griffin.
He was an accountant and bookkeeper at Commercial Products with 33 years of dedicated service. He was also a US Navy veteran.
Survivors include a son, Joe Griffin, Jr. of Monroe; a daughter Janet Mullis and husband, Kenny Mullis, of Monroe; three grandsons, Greg E. Mullis of Monroe, Travis L. Mullis and wife, Catherine Mullis, of Monroe, and Scott Griffin of Monroe; two great-grandsons, Tyler R. Mullis of Monroe, and Hunter R. Mills of Monroe; and a great-granddaughter, Chloe Mullis of Monroe.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM Saturday (May 4, 2013) at Mountain Springs Baptist Church, prior to the funeral ceremony.
Memorials may be made to Mountain Springs Baptist Church; 2509 Mountain Springs Church Road, Monroe, North Carolina 28112; or to Hospice of Union County; 700 West Roosevelt Boulevard, Monroe, North Carolina 28110.
