Joseph Michael "Mikey" Helms' Obituary
Mr. Joseph Michael "Mikey" Helms, age 56, of Waxhaw, passed away on Monday, November 23, 2015 at CMC-Pineville, NC.
Born on March 6, 1959, in Charlotte, North Carolina, he was the son of Clara King Helms and the late Jarvis McSwain (JM) Helms. He was a Project Manager for Carrick Contracting , with many years of dedicated service.
Funeral services for Mr. Helms will be conducted by Reverend Ray Helms, at 3:00 PM on Sunday, November 29, 2015 at Davis Funeral Home Chapel, 1003 E. Franklin Street, Monroe, NC 28112. The family will receive friends on Saturday night, November 28, 2015 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene Day Helms of Waxhaw; a daughter, Katherine L. Martinez (Ray) of Waxhaw ; a son, Christopher M. Helms (Tarah) of Waxhaw; and his mother, Clara Helms of Monroe. Additional survivors include his grandchildren, Larissa E. Martinez of Charlotte, Christina Jo Martinez, Matthew R. Martinez, Jake Thomas Martinez, Bryleigh N. Helms, and Jase Terry Michael Helms, all of Waxhaw. He is also survived by one brother, Max Helms of Florida, and two sisters, Sissy Campo (Billy) of Charlotte, and Marie Penix (Donnie) of Monroe.
