My sympathy to the entire family. Joe was a kind, good man.
Praying for you all during this difficult time. Love in Christ
Betsy and family, we were very saddened to hear we lost a great man, but gained another angel. Joe was an exceptional and gentle man which we were very fortunate to have known and will be deeply missed. Please know our thoughts and prayers are with the family in this time of sorrow. We love and miss you all, may God bless you.
Knowing and working with Joe for many years at Celanese and our
friendship continued these years of retirement. I will always remember his integrity, character, love for people and his Christian walk that was an inspiration to all who knew him. I am grateful to call him my friend and will miss him.
Betsy, may God bless you in your loss.
Truly one of Gods Finest servsnts, always a Southern Gentleman... may God Bless , comfort and strengthen his family...thank you Mr Joe for your many works especially making Stanly County a better place to live and raise our family
As a colleague of Joe's, I watched and admired his daily attitude. What a gentleman! Joe was a salesman's salesman - always positive and full of integrity. I am grateful to count him as a friend.
Joe Godwin was a true gentleman but was also a gentle man. His kind smile and encouraging words were always such a blessing. He shared his many talents with so many and especially with the Albemarle Downtown Development Corporation. He and the late Annie Ruth Kelley had a vision for the Market Street Station and they were determined to see that dream fulfilled. Without their dedication and determination, I'm not sure it would have become a reality. My deepest sympathies to the lovely Betsy and the family.
As a friend to J.R while growing up, I will always remember him in special ways. We played Basketball together at our small country school. And also played together as children. We lived side by side and He was such a good friend to my Brother D.S until the day he died. What a blessing to have known he and Betsy. They were special people. Betsy hang in there.God will provide. Lots of love to you.
God blessed us with Joe's life. He was definitely the finest example of a gentleman that I know of. I never saw him upset nor never heard him raise his voice. We are infinitely better from knowing Joe.
