Jonathan Tyler Hill's Obituary
Jonathan Tyler Hill, 40, of Monroe passed away on Wednesday, July 1st, 2026, after being struck by a vehicle while riding his motorcycle. He was born in Union County on September 22, 1985, to Charles Lewis Hill and Melissa Fowler Hill.
After graduating from Sun Valley High School, Tyler attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. He went on to build an impressive career in the manufacturing industry, working at Duke Power’s Catawba Nuclear Station (York, SC), Bosch Manufacturing Plant (Charleston, SC), McCoy Machinery Company (Monroe) and Charlotte Pipe and Foundry (Monroe).
Beyond his career, Tyler had a passion for American muscle cars, Harley Davidson motorcycles, bodybuilding, dogs, hunting, and the outdoors. Above all, Tyler loved his family and friends and will be remembered as someone who was fiercely loyal and protective of those he cared for.
Tyler’s love for the Lord was the foundation of his life, and he valued the power of prayer, kindness, and steadfast hope in Christ. He is deeply missed, but we find peace in knowing that he went home to be with his Lord and Savior in heaven.
Tyler was preceded in death by his father, Charles Hill; grandparents, Frank Fowler, Betty Moore Fowler Rape, Earl Rape, Craven Hill, and Ruby Brooks Hill; uncles, Ronald Lawson and Eric Neal Fowler; and aunt, Laura Kay Hill.
Tyler is survived by his mother, Melissa Fowler Hill of Monroe; sister, Ashton Hill Crates (Clay) of Defiance, Ohio; brother, Seth Hill (Aeriel) of Monroe; nephew, Lawson Tyler Hill; and step-nephew, Grayden Wallace. He also leaves behind his fiancé, Angie Mikeal, and her family.
A funeral service will be held at Davis Chapel-Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care, 1003 East Franklin Street, Monroe, NC 28112 on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at 3PM. Visitation will precede the service from 1:00 PM to 2:45PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Tyler’s name to Pleasant Grove Campground.
