Johnny P. Mangum's Obituary
Mr. Johnny P. Mangum, age 70, of Monroe,North Carolina, passed away Monday, January 6, 2014, at his residence.
Memorial Services to celebrate his life will be conducted at 6:30 PM Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at Davis Funeral Chapel, 1003 East Franklin Street, officiated by Reverend Robert Carlan .
The family will receive friends following the ceremony on Wednesday at Davis until 9:00 PM.
Mr. Mangum was born on May 8, 1943, in Lancaster County, South Carolina, a son of the late James Perry Mangum and Maymie Horton Mangum.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, James Mangum and Mike Mangum.
He was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corp., worked 18 years with the CSX Railroad and retired with Charlotte Pipe and Foundry-Plastics Division as a security guard with 18 years of dedicated service.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Griffin Mangum of Monroe; a daughter, Lisa Eubanks and husband Marshall of Monroe; a son. Patrick L. Mangum of Monroe; four sisters, Sue Hughes and husband D.J. of Stallings, Patsy Watson of Pageland, SC, Betty Johnson of Sugar Hill, GA and Nancy Huntley of Mint Hill; four brothers, Richard Mangum of Cumming, GA, Randy Mangum and wife Teresa of Monroe, Ralph Mangum and wife Pat of Marietta, GA and Charles Mangum and wife Ruth of Brooksville, FL.
There are four grandchildren, Ragan Eubanks of Monroe, Peyton E. Mangum of Monroe, Sarah Greene of Indian Trail and Michaela Pressley of Monroe.
There are numerous nieces and nephews.
