Johnny Fred Hatley's Obituary
On Sunday Morning, November 27, 2016 Johnny Fred Hatley, 67, of New London, NC went home to be with his Lord and Savior. His funeral will be Thursday December 1 at 11AM at Highland Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Smith and Rev. Dolan Humphries officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 4 till 7 PM at Stanly Funeral & Cremation Care. The burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
Born August 2, 1949 in Stanly County, He was the son of the late Fred Washington Hatley and Pearl Elizabeth Cagle Hatley. Johnny was a graduate of North Stanly High School and was the owner and operator of Fast Stop Food Stores. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and loved horseback riding, playing golf, and his family.
He is survived by one son, David Hatley of the home, two daughters, Shelly Palmer (David) of New London, and Lisa Hammill (Nathan) of Rockwell, three sisters, Sue Stiller (Vernon) of Albemarle, Linda Hinson (James) of New London, and Patty Eudy (Eddie) of New London, and four grandchildren, Branson Palmer, Patrick Hammill, Colson Hammill, and Jessie Hammill. Mr. Hatley is also survived by many nieces and nephews. ?He is preceded in death by his wife, Teresa Ann Brooks Hatley.
In lieu of flowers the family wishes memorials be made to the David Hatley Fund at Bank of North Carolina, PO Box 489,?Albemarle, NC 28002 to care for their son.
