Johnny Ray Almond's Obituary
Johnny Ray Almond, 64, of Albemarle, NC passed away Saturday March 18, 2017. His funeral will be Thursday, March 23 at 2 PM in the Stanly Funeral & Cremation Care Chapel with Rev. James Pyatt officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM prior to the service. Entombment will follow the chapel service in the Fairview Memorial Park mausoleum.
Born October 10, 1952 in Stanly County, Johnny was the son of the late Homer Ray Almond and Annie Lillian Moyle Almond. He was a self-employed building contractor and of the United Methodist faith. He was a member of the Yadkin Valley Home Builders Association.? Johnny loved the outdoors and was a member of the National Wild Turkey Federation as well as J.V. Mabry Hunt Club.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Jackie Lowder Almond of the home, daughter Jennifer Almond Suneson (Ollie Greene) of Rockwell, son Jeremiah Edward Almond (Camey) of Albemarle, sister Lorene Tucker (Robbie) of Albemarle, brother David Almond (Laurie) of Albemarle, sister in-law Sherry Turbutt (Bob) of Albemarle, grandchildren, Bree, Savannah, Carson, Noah, Tana, Natalie, Owen, Asher, Eli, Sadie, and Thomas, and nine living nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Johnny is preceded in death by a brother, Terry Almond and a nephew, Jessie Almond.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Wild Turkey Federation at P.O. Box 530 Edgefield, S.C. 29824 or to New London United Methodist Church at P.O. Box 146 New London, NC 28127.
