Mr. Johnathan Myles Cureton, age 21, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away Friday, August 1, 2014.
Funeral Services to Celebrate the Life of Johnathan Myles Cureton will be conducted at 3:00 PM Saturday, August 9, 2014, at New Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 217 West Todd Lane, Charlotte, NC, 28208, officiated by Reverend Ron Drabot.
Interment will follow at Gospel Way Baptist Church Cemetery, 7310 Tirzah Church Road, Waxhaw, NC, 28173.
Mr. Cureton was born on February 7, 1993, in Charlotte, North Carolina, a son of Tamara Campbell of Charlotte and Brent Cureton of Charlotte. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Julius Arthur Warner of Chicago and an uncle, John Cureton of Waxhaw.
He was a student athlete at University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNCC).
Survivors in addition to his parents include; a step father, Carlos Campbell of Charlotte, NC; five sisters, DeAndrea Richardson, Alivia Cureton, Blayke Cureton and Layla Campbell all of Charlotte; a stepbrother, Sonny Campbell of Charlotte; a step-sister, Devan Abram of Charlotte; grandparents, Robert and Catherine Cureton of Waxhaw; and Ingrid Triki of Equador; aunts, Karen Wallace (Jerry), Cassandra Cureton, Chelsea Owens (Joe) and Sadia Lorentz (Cathy Carter); uncles Lionel Cureton, Barry Cureton (Gloria), Robert Cureton Jr., Tarek Colwell all of Charlotte and Malik Warner of Germany; god parents, Brandy McKinney of Cleveland, Ohio, Samuel Hinnant of Charlotte and Darryl Caldwell of Waxhaw, NC.
There are a host of cousins.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM Saturday, August 9, 2014, at the church prior to the funeral ceremony.
In addition there will be a walk-in at Davis Funeral Home 1003 East Franklin Street, Monroe, NC, 28112 on Friday August 8, 2014 from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM.
