John Peter Homer's Obituary
John Peter Homer, 82, of Albemarle, passed away on Friday, February 5, 2021 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis, NC. A private burial will be held at a later date.
Mr. Homer was born May 5, 1938 in Birmingham, England to the late Harry Homer and Elizabeth Yahagan Homer. John was an avid reader and enjoyed going to the Stanly County Public Library. He loved animals and watching sports. John enjoyed watching soccer, especially his favorite team, Aston Villa F.C. Mr. Homer was a man with a kind heart. He gave donations on many occasions to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital and to the Friends of the Stanly County Public Library.
He was preceded in death by his wife Emma Gibson Homer. He is survived by nephew Larry Gibson (Glenda) of Albemarle.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Stanly County Humane Society at 2049 Badin Rd. Albemarle, NC 28001 or to the Friends of the Stanly County Public Library at 133 E Main St. # 4993, Albemarle, NC 28001.
