Robert Stcyr
My deepest condolences to Ed's family. I have known Ed since we served on the USS Little Rock CLG4, from 1970 thru 1972. We were both Radarmen and we became like brothers. We were always together. In port we loved to explore, or volunteer for Shore Patrol and after duty, enjoy some great Scotch.
Over the years we lost tract of each other till Ed tracked me down about 10 years ago. We kept in touch since, by text and by phone. He loved to sit in his shop with the dogs and we would text about what was new, our families and the weather as well as politics.
This past Christmas and then New Year's I sent my greetings but never got a response. I justified it by thinking he was at the beach enjoying himself. At the end of January, I finally got the courage to call his number. Yup. it was disconnected. I was devastated. After an online search, I found this Obituary. I guess it can be considered closure, but I so regret that neither of us took the time to finally get together in person.
ED was a very unique and loyal friend and shipmate, and I will always consider myself lucky to have known him. Cheers Brother till we meet again.
Bob St. Cyr Charlton, MA.
