John Wayne Fraley's Obituary
John Wayne Fraley, 87, of Richfield, NC passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Monday, February 19, 2024. His celebration of life service will be 3PM Thursday February 22, 2024, at New Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church, Richfield, NC. officiated by Rev. Jim Allred and Rev. Edward Biggers. The family will greet family and friends from 2PM until 3PM at the church prior to the service.
He was born January 23rd, 1937, to John Daniel and Onnie Wagner Fraley. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Angela Fraley Ballard. Left to cherish his memories, his wife of 66 years, Ruby Caudle Fraley, daughter, Debra (Sid) Fraley Smith, five grandchildren, Titus (Nicole) Russell, Brett Ballard, Brooke (Shayne) Brown, Amie (Garrett) Hooks. Hannah Ballard, and 3 great-grandchildren, Gunnar Hooks, Alayna Russell, and Jaxton Hooks.
He graduated from Richfield High School and retired from Vulcan Materials, Gold Hill Quarry. He was a lifelong member of New Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church. As long as his health permitted, he loved to be outside, especially tending to his garden and yard. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren supporting them and watching their different activities.
