John Vann Caudle's Obituary
John Vann Caudle was born October 15, 1945 in Union County. The son of Mr. & Mrs. Frank Sherman Caudle, both who preceded him in death.
A Service to Celebrate the Life of Mr. John Vann Caudle will be conducted at 12:00 PM Thursday, June 13, 2019, at Nicey Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 318 Camden Road, Wingate, NC 28174. Interment will follow with full military honors at Lakeland Memorial Park Cemetery, 1901 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe, NC 28112. He will lie in state one hour prior to the funeral ceremony at Nicey Grove.
There will be a public viewing from 12:00 PM until 6:00 PM Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at Davis Funeral Home in Monroe, 1003 East Franklin Street, Monroe, NC 28112.
He was educated in Union County Public schools where he graduated from East Union High School in 1966. He furthered his education at Central Piedmont Community College where he received a degree in Welding.
John was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He served a tour of duty in Vietnam.
John joined Nicey Grove Baptist Church at an early age. He later attended Resurrection Christian Church with his wife.
As John's health began to decline, he spent a year in Bill Hefner VA Medical Center. He departed this life on Thursday, June 6th 2019.
John Vann was a well known & respected man in the community, being known as the mayor of Camp Sutton. He never gave up his youth card & was the coolest guy on the block according to the neighborhood youth.
John Vann is preceded in death by: Three brothers (James, Pearl & Joe) & Two sisters ( Loraine Long & Mable Funderburk.
The one who will miss him the most, his dedicated & loving wife, Linda Walker Caudle. They were married for 50 years.
He leaves to cherish his memory: Two daughters: Sheri Caudle of Unionville, NC & Danielle Caudle of Monroe, NC & Two sons: Darwin Caudle of Unionville, NC & Kevin Clark of Charlotte, NC.
He leaves Three sisters: Mary Harrell of Marshville, NC, Annie Allen of Charlotte, NC & Frances Brown of Washington , DC. ; Two brothers: Sherman Caudle of Marshville, NC & Clyde Caudle, Sr. (Clarese) of Wingate, NC. ; Six sister in laws: Johnnie Mae & Queen Caudle, Carolyn, Doris & Mary Walker & Brenda Davis; One brother in law: Lorenzo Long.
Two granddaughters: Kendra Hall & Summer Jones, Four grandsons: Reggie & Joshua Caudle, Quayshawn Witherspoon & Takai Marsh,; Fourteen great-grandchildren.
One Goddaughter: Brittany Walker, One Godgrandson Braxton Richardson & a host of nieces, nephews, relatives & close friends.
