Joel Kenneth Smith's Obituary
Joel Kenneth Smith, 81, of Locust passed away Thursday, April
18, 2019 at CHS-Northeast, Concord. His
funeral service will be 2 PM Monday, April 22, 2019 in the Stanly Funeral and
Cremation Care of Locust Chapel with Pastor David Sanders officiating. Burial will follow in the Coyle Baptist
Church Cemetery. The family will receive
friend at Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care of Locust from 12:30 until 1:30 prior
to the service.
Born December 28, 1937 in Stanly County, NC he was the son
of the late E. Eugene Smith and Vernie Lambert Smith. He was a retired employee of Cannon Mills and
a member of Coyle Baptist Church.
Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his wife Willie Faye Love
Smith. Survivors include 4 sons, Herman
Smith (Teresa) of Concord, Justin Smith (Joann) of Locust, Jeffrey Smith of
Locust and Dale Stancil (Charlene) of Locust, brothers Jim Smith of Monroe and
Ronnie Smith of Mt. Pleasant, sister Linda Smith Long of Midland, 4 grandchildren
and 11 great-grandchildren. A sister Mary Helms preceded him in death.
Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care of Locust is serving the Smith
family.
