JoAnn Williams' Obituary
JoAnn Williams, 86, of Albemarle, NC, and formerly of Hemet, California, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2025, at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.
Born on January 1, 1939, in St. Louis, Missouri, JoAnn was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph Cleveland Williams and Thelma Lee Bidwell Williams. She spent much of her career working for McDonnell Douglas, from which she retired with pride.
JoAnn was a vibrant and spirited woman who embraced life with joy and a touch of rebellious charm. She had a deep love for California, where she spent many happy years, especially enjoying trips to the beach and the bright lights of Las Vegas. A true rock 'n' roll soul, JoAnn was a lifelong fan of the Rolling Stones, ZZ Top, and AC/DC her the loving nickname "Granny Grunt" from those who knew her best.
JoAnn is survived by her three daughters, Carla Hillman and Melissa Cash, both of Albemarle, NC, and Brenda Cash of Castle Rock, CO; three grandchildren, Justin Efird, Krystle Efird, and Whitney Fisher; and five great-grandsons, Bryson Huneycutt, Brody Cash, Cassius Turner, Lukus Huneycutt, and Lennox Clark. She also leaves behind her cherished little dog, Tinker, who brought her great comfort and companionship.
JoAnn's legacy is one of laughter, music, and fierce love for her family. She will be deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to know her.
