Jimmy Lavon Vanhoy's Obituary
Jimmy Lavon Vanhoy,71, of Henderson, passed away Saturday, October 15, 2022 at his home. His funeral service will be 2 pm Friday, October 21, 2022 in the Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care Chapel of Albemarle with Rev. Todd Tucker officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakboro Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6pm until 8pm at the funeral home.
He was born June 14, 1951 in Stanly County, NC to the late James Curtis Vanhoy, Sr. and Margaret Virginia Bowers Vanhoy. Jimmy was a carpenter and roofer. Mr. Vanhoy was a very selfless man, being brave and strong. He loved his family and his grandchildren.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Linda Faye Butler Vanhoy of the home. He is also survived by three daughters, Angie Burleson of Albemarle, Jeannie Lavon Smith (Ricky, Jr) of Albemarle, Miranda Marie Bolton (Thomas, Jr) of Henderson, NC; son, Gregory Brain West, Jr. (Georgia) of Castalia, NC; three brothers, David Vanhoy (Mary Ann) of Albemarle, Randy Vanhoy of Albemarle and James Curtis Vanhoy, Jr. of Albemarle; three sisters, Pat Kittredge (Greg) of Concord, NC, Cathy Locklear (Glenn) of Albemarle, Pam Locklear (Earl) of Albemarle; Nine grandchildren, Brianna Michael, Madison Michael, Jackson Bolton, Elijah Bolton, Jimmy Bolton, Deavin Smith, Lindsey Smith, Matthew Burleson, Jessica Wiestling (Jesse) and a great grandchild, Sadie Wiestling. He is also preceded in death by two daughters, Peggy West and Amanda Gail Vanhoy, two brothers, Johnny Ray Vanhoy and Ronald Lee Vanhoy and a sister Nora DeBerry.
Memorials may be donated to Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care of Albemarle, P.O. Box 207, Albemarle, NC 28002 to assist the family with the funeral expenses.
