Jimmie Price Morgan's Obituary
Mr. Jimmie Price Morgan, 82, of Albemarle, passed away on Monday, July 27, 2026, at National Health Care Parklane in Columbia, South Carolina.
A service to honor Jimmie's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 3, 2026, in the Stanly Funeral & Cremation Care Chapel with Rev. Richard Alexander officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Park with Military Honors rendered by the United States Navy. Masonic Rites will also be conducted by Stanly Lodge No. 348 A.F. & A.M. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at Stanly Funeral & Cremation Care in Albemarle.
Born on February 23, 1944, in Stanly County, Jimmie was the son of the late James P. Morgan and Ozelle Eudy Morgan. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Pfeiffer College in 1974 and dedicated his career to public service, retiring as a Lieutenant with the North Carolina Department of Corrections at the Badin Correctional Center.
A member of West Albemarle Baptist Church, Jimmie also found great fellowship through his membership with Stanly Lodge No. 348 A.F. & A.M. He enjoyed spending his free time reading and embraced the adventure of flying his paraplane. Whether enjoying a good book or soaring through the skies, Jimmie appreciated life's simple pleasures and lived with quiet determination, integrity, and a spirit of adventure. In the end his favorite thing to do was enjoy time with family and friends, and sitting on the veranda just being together.
Jimmie was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Brenda P. Morgan, on August 21, 2019.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his sons, Jimmie Price "Jay" Morgan (Jennifer Pippin) of St. Petersburg, Florida, Brian Morgan (Pearl) of Albemarle, and Jimmy Poplin (Jessica) of Boone; his daughters, Donna Lewellen of Norwood and Glenda Medlin (David) of Thomasville; his grandchildren, Callie Morgan, Cassie Morgan, Sydney Smith, Tyler Morgan, Zachary Lewellen, Joshua Lewellen, Dakota Lewellen, Jessica Thompson, Caylee Thompson, and River Poplin; 14 great-grandchildren; along with many extended family members and dear friends who will miss him greatly.
Jimmie will be remembered as a devoted family man, a proud veteran, a respected correctional officer, a faithful Christian, and a man whose steady character and love for learning left a lasting impression on all who knew him. His legacy of service, faith, and dedication will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
