I first met Jimmie at One Stop. He and others sat at the front table drinking coffee. Later, Jimmie and I would be in cardiac rehab together. We became friends. Jimmie assisted me in going to the VA in Salisbury for prescriptions and treatment since I had never been. I enjoyed seeing his tractors. One time, I purchased some blueberries. On occasion, Jimmie would stop in Locust to see me. Although I am not from "these parts," Jimmie became a good friend. I will miss him. My prayers to his family. I loved him like a brother.
For Sue, Jimmy and Sherry : I extend my sincere sympathy during your loss. Jim was a dear friend and co-worker of mine. I would stop by and visit from time to time and he'd share stories about his family, grandkids, pool building and growing up on the Gold Mine road. He was the kind of feller that you couldn't help but like.... I know he will be sorely missed and I pray God gives you comfort and peace during these next few weeks.
