She was a lovely woman and I am thankful for knowing her. Loved to see her at church which she enjoyed so much. A kind and gentle soul.
Last year my girls and I were in town and stopped to see grandma. She was snappin beans and the girls wanted to help, she let them of course, then cracked some pecans for them later to snack on. They had never had pecans and thought that pecans were coconuts, so from then on they called grandma the coconut girl. When I told her their new name for her she smiled real big and said “why… I haven’t been called a girl in a long long time.” I thought about my grandma that day and wondered what she was like as a girl. I know that no one here knew her as a girl. I’d never wondered what she was like, she was always a grandma to me but for a few minutes I wondered… What dreams did she have? Were there places that she would liked to have gone? Did she think about the life that God would so greatly bless her with as a girl?
Which was a beautiful life with more people that loved her than most people know in a lifetime. What a wonderful lady “girl”!
