Julie was born March 23, 1933 in Albemarle, NC.? She was the daughter of the late William Mack Holt and Novella Louise Whitely.?? She graduated from Albemarle High School. She married Nathan Pate (Nate) of Cheraw, SC on June 12, 1951. They spent 65 years together. She was a ?full time? loving devoted wife and mother. Nate?s Air Force career took Julie and family on travels through Europe and around the United States. Julie and Nate retired back to Albemarle in the mid 1970s. She was happy to settle back in her home town and be near her parents, family, and friends. She was a lifelong member of Grace Baptist Church. Julie spent her final years as a resident of Cuthbertson Village Aldersgate in Charlotte. ?Julie is preceded in death by her husband Nathan Pate. Survivors include: sister, Montague Shank; daughters: Sharon Pate (Paul) and Susan Stiller; grandchildren: Mifflin O?Neill ( Sean) and Summer Hayes(Jonathan) David Stiller; grandchildren: Emerson and Callahan O?Neill, and Sara Hayes. A graveside service with family will be held Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at 2 p.m at Stanly Gardens of Memory, 2001 East Main St., Albemarle, NC.?
