Jettie Coggins Corriher's Obituary
Jettie Lee Coggins Corriher, 98, of Albemarle passed away
June 13, 2019 in Bethany Woods. Her funeral will be 3 PM Friday, June 14, 2019
in the Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care Chapel with Rev. Brandon King
officiating. Burial will follow in the New London Cemetery. The family will
receive friends at Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care from 2 until 3 PM prior to
the service.
Born April 29, 1921 in Davidson County, NC, she was the
daughter late William Cicero Coggins and Ila Estelle Cline Coggins. Mrs. Corriher
was a member of the First Baptist Church of New London where she was the oldest
living member. She worked in textiles throughout her life. She was an excellent
seamstress and was known for her excellent dress making and her crocheting. She
crocheted a blanket for each of her grandchildren.
Mrs. Corriher was preceded in death by her husband, Wade E.
Corriher. Survivors include son Ernest Corriher and wife Judy of New London,
daughters Sue Hurley and husband Clifton of Albemarle, and Jane Palmer of Norwood,
five grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three
brothers and five sisters.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of New
London, 111 E. Church St., New London, NC 28127.
