Jesse William ?JW? McLester, 93, of Albemarle, N.C., passed away Saturday March 4, 2017 at Stanly Manor.? His funeral service will be 3:00PM Monday, March 6, 2017 at West Oakboro Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Austin officiating.? Burial will follow in the Oakboro Cemetery.? The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 6:00PM until 8:0PM at Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care.
Mr. McLester was born August 26, 1923 in Stanly County to the late Jesse Alfred McLester and Dora Boone McLester.? He was a retired meat cutter with Red and White of Oakboro.? He was a member of West Oakboro Baptist Church where he was a devoted Sunday school teacher and deacon as long as his health permitted.? Mr. McLester was a U.S. Navy veteran.? He was an avid reader as well.
Survivors include wife Geneva Rummage McLester; one son; Ricky Lynn McLester (Debra) of Albemarle; one daughter; Pam Wise (Eddie) of Albemarle; one daughter-in-law; Loretta McLester of Albemarle; five grandchildren; Allen McLester (Suzanne), Jennifer Walker (Jim), Heather Wise, Alex McLester, Megan Chamberlin (Mike); four great-grandchildren; Grayson McLester, Barrett McLester, Shelby Walker, Grace Chamberlin.? He is preceded in death by one son; Larry Neil McLester.
