Jerry Eugene Griffin's Obituary
Jerry Eugene Griffin, 82, of Monroe passed away on December 18, 2023 in Atrium Health Union. His funeral service will be 12 Noon on Thursday December 21, 2023 at Sandy Ridge Baptist Church with Pastor Eddie Powers officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 11 until 11:45 prior to the hour of the service.
Born August 26, 1941 in Union County, NC he was the son of the late Charles Archie Griffin and Florence May Tarlton Griffin. A member of Sandy Ridge Baptist Church, he was a retired Assembly Door Closer with Yale and in retirement worked as a janitor at Western Union Elementary School.
Mr. Griffin is survived by his wife Betty Alda Griffin. Other survivors include children Jerry Eugene Griffin Jr. of Marshville, Mark Griffin of Arkansas, Matthew Griffin of Monroe, Teresa Pittman of Richfield, and Barbara Braswell of Indian Trail, 14 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son Ethan Griffin and a sister Clara Efird.
