Jeffrey (Jeff) Lee Purser's Obituary
Mr. Jeffrey Lee (Jeff) Purser, age 53, of Monroe, North Carolina, passed away Saturday, October 4, 2014, in Ocracoke, NC, while on a fishing vacation.
Funeral Services to celebrate his life will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 8, 2014, at Ebenezer Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Tim Rogers. Interment will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park.
Mr. Purser was born on May 31, 1961, in Union County, North Carolina, a son of Phoebah Purser Joyner and the late Aaron Lee Purser. Jeff attended Piedmont High School. He was a Training Coordinator with ATI Allvac with 33 years of dedicated service. He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by a son, Travis Aaron Purser; his father, Aaron Lee Purser; and his father-in-law, Gadis Pepper.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa Helms Purser of Monroe; two daughters, Lindsay Nicole Purser (lovingly called Fred), and fiancé, Austin Reep, Morgan Leigh Purser (lovingly called George); his mother, Phoebah Purser Joyner, and husband, James Joyner of Monroe; one brother, Terry Hall Purser of Gastonia; three sisters, Diane Purser Freeman, and husband, Rob, of Indian Trail, Lynn Purser Wooten, and husband, Tommy, of Gastonia, Terry Mangum Starnes, and husband, Jimmy, of Monroe; his grandmother, Elsie Purser of Monroe. Additional survivors include his father-in-law, Paul Helms, and wife, Bernice, of Monroe; mother-in-law, Charlene Pepper of Charlotte; brother-in-law, Michael Helms of Monroe; sister-in-law, Kim Murray, and husband, Greg, of Monroe. Jeff had many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 7, 2014, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Davis Funeral Home at 1003 East Franklin Street in Monroe.
