Jeffery Paul Bates' Obituary
Jeffery Paul Bates, 60, of Albemarle passed away on Sunday, September 26, 2021 at Atrium Health Stanly. A celebration of life service will be held at 7PM on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at Full Gospel Mission Church officiated by Rev. Mitchell Cook, Rev. Randy Shankle, and Rev. Scott Williams.
Jeffery was born April 14, 1961 in Roanoke, AL to Rebecca Huddleston Bates and the late Harold Richardson Bates. During his work career, Jeffery was a firefighter, police officer, paramedic, and owned Bates AC where he worked on heavy machinery. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. Jeffery spent quite of bit of his time away from work riding motorcycles. He was a founding member and Vice President of the NC Chapter 24 Red Knights Motorcycle club. He also enjoyed riding in a local motorcycle ministry club. Mr. Bates enjoyed singing gospel music and was a very active member of Full Gospel Mission Church. He traveled to Zimbabwe, Africa to do mission work. Jeffery Loved life and was always joking and having a good time.
Mr. Bates is survived by his wife Tammy Holshouser Bates of the home, brothers: Mike Bates (Deborah) of Tallassee, AL, Craig Bates (Terri) of Murfreesboro, TN; stepchildren: Brittany Baucom, McKenzie Watts, Ryan Allison, Lindy Nunn; step-grandchildren: Jack Nunn, Jadon, Kyle, and Michael Allison; nieces and nephews: Caitlin Bates, Baylee Bates, Johnnie Bates, Hayley Daniels. He was preceded in death by his sister Johnnie Ruth Bates.
