Jeannie Michelle Vang's Obituary
Jeannie Michelle Vang, 44, of Mt. Gilead, NC, passed away on May 11, 2025, at Atrium Health Union.
A funeral service to honor her life will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Albemarle. The service will begin at 8:00 AM and conclude at 12:00 Noon.
Born on December 17, 1980, in Minneapolis, MN, Jeannie was the beloved daughter of the late Chai Yee Vang and Nalee Lee Vang. She was known by all who loved her as kind, generous, funny, and deeply caring—a truly special soul whose warmth touched everyone around her.
Jeannie found joy in the simple moments of life. She enjoyed watching dramas, sightseeing, creating art, and especially spending time with her family. She had a passion for good food and a gift for making those around her laugh and feel loved. Her artistic talent and her thoughtful phone calls will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her three cherished children: Rylan Vang, Angelina Souza, and Izabella Souza, all of Mt. Gilead; her husband, David Souza of Mt. Gilead; and seven siblings: Michael Vang, Chao Vang, See Vang, and Mai Vang, all of California; Thomas Vang and Tou Vang of Utah; and Blia Vang of Mt. Gilead. She was preceded in death by her brother, Fong Vang.
Jeannie’s legacy lives on through the love she gave, the memories she created, and the family who will carry her spirit forward.
