Jean Rogers Smith, 81, of New London passed away on Friday, August 19, 2022 in Bethany Woods Nursing Center. Her funeral will be at 2 PM on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at Highland Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Lowe officiating. Buria Read Obituary
Momma I sure do miss you so much this is not easy at all I have stopped my self from dialing nursing homes phone to get to your nurse and check on you . I will burst into tears cause I remember never again never will I be able to call up and speak too her . Mom I know your better in heaven no pain no sorrow no nothing but I wish I still had my momma right now .....oh momma I love and miss you daddy every one here has you in there hearts

This is my mother , I am her daughter I had over 40 some years with her teaching me how to be a mother a wife and yet she was my best friend the older I got . After daddy passed I became her keeper helping her do things daddy always done for her and I watched her slowly go down hill to where her granddaughter Anissa and her son Jahiem moved in to help mom during these times along with me to where I would show up cook for her clean her house bathe her to now where my job lead me away I would still at times come home and surprise her to now I did not make it home in time to say good bye and tell my momma I loved her one more time . This is not going to be easy on me at all nor her grandchildren and greatgrandson along with her sister Jane but I want to say mom I'm sorry I did not make it in time I love you God please be with me momma all I want is to have one more moment in time to say I love you
I have special memories of this dear lady when she was at Bethany as my mom's roommate for a period of time. Jean was full of love and compassion. I always enjoyed visiting with her. I'm thankful I got to know her and appreciate all that she did for my mom. Will be praying God's peace and comfort for the whole family.
