Janie Lynn Oliver's Obituary
Janie Lynn Oliver, 78, of Salisbury, formerly of Albemarle, passed away on Monday, February 9, 2026, at Trinity Oaks Nursing Facility.
A service to celebrate Lynn’s life will be held at a later date.
Born on May 11, 1947, in Akron, Ohio, Lynn was the daughter of the late Robert “Bob” and Virginia “Ginny” Roberts. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose kindness and gentle spirit touched all who knew her. Her faith in Jesus brought her immense joy and sustained her through every season of life. She loved deeply and expressed that love by generously serving others with her time, talents, and resources.
She is lovingly survived by her children, Bradley Claxton (Karen) of Albemarle and Alicia Mott (Jared) of Franklin, Tennessee; her grandchildren, Rebecca Garrido (Dante), John James Butler, Jonathan Claxton (Allison), Jeremy Mott, and Hannah Mott; her sister, Kay Watters; her son-in-law, Carey Butler; her sister-in-law, Rosemary Kinard (Karl), and her nieces and nephews, Cindi Harbour (Bill), Mark Watters, James Walther, and Jeff Hendrick (Katie).
Lynn was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, David Claxton; her second husband, James Oliver; and her daughter, Debbie Butler.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Trinity Oaks Nursing Facility for the exceptional care, compassion, and support shown to Lynn during her time there.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Amazima Ministries, a ministry dear to Lynn’s heart, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
