Janet Godwin's Obituary
Janet Hinson Godwin, age 59 , of Marshville, North Carolina, passed away Thursday, January 2, 2014, at Presbyterian Hospital Main in Charlotte.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Janet Godwin will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday, January 5, 2014, at Olive Branch Baptist Church, officiated by Brian Medlin and Victor Dermid.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Ms. Godwin was born on September 16, 1954, in Albemarle, North Carolina, a daughter of Richard Hinson Jr and Elsie Capel Hinson.
She was employed at ATI Allvac as a workers compensation analyst, with over 30 years of dedicated service.
Survivors include her daughter, Tonya Godwin Whitley and husband Caleb Whitley of Stanfield; a son, Brandon Charles Godwin and wife Amanda Godwin of Marshville; her parents, Richard and Elsie Hinson of Albemarle; a brother, Roger Hinson of Albemarle; a sister, Sherri Hinson Blackmon of Albemarle; a special friend, Lynn Thomas of Marshville; a special cousin, Sharon Rumble of Lexington, NC.
There are two grandchildren, Cody Whitley and Payton Whitley.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Saturday Night, January 4, 2014, at Davis Funeral Home in Monroe, 1003 East Franklin Street.
