So sorry to hear about Jan. He was a good friend who will be missed.
Dear Vivian and family,I was so sad to hear of Jan's passing. He was truly a fine person. May peace be with you and your family and remember all the good times. Peace.
So sorry to hear this. He was a great guy. Please know my thoughts and prayers are with you all!! The beach will never be quite the same😢
I always considered Jan a good friend, even though we didn't see each other much after high school. It was always a pleasure to run into him at a car show or one of our old watering holes. HE WILL BE MISSED'
Godspeed to one really cool dude!! Prayers for strength and healing to sweet Vivian and the entire family.
One Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Lingle got their family ready to go to church, the First Presbyterian Church of Monroe, NC. There the Lingle family went and occupied one pew, or most of it. During my daddy's (Dr. Roy F. Whitley) sermon, Jan fell asleep! So, his parents decided to let him sleep on through the service. Well, the service came to an end, and most everyone had left the church. Jan was still sleeping........until my daddy walked over to greet the family! For some reason, Jan woke right then and saw this man dressed in a long black robe! He told me he never forgot that and then laughed! A good natured soul, I will miss him. My thoughts, prayers and love go to Vivian and their entire family.
Jan will be forever remembered for his love of beach music, his funny jokes, and the many stories he told, plus his love for his wife Vivian and family. Jan was a friendly man with lots of friends who loved him and will miss him. “No More Cloudy Days†, Pain Free, RIP, my friend.
I have fond memories of time spent with you all when you lived on Wilmington Island! I especially remember Jan and his love of the Eagles. I always have thought of him when I hear "take it easy" by the eagles. Love you Vivian and prayers for you all.
Thoughts and prayers are with you Vivian.Â
