James Howard Thomas' Obituary
James ?Jimmy? Howard Thomas, 77, of New London passed away on October 16, 2020 at FirstHealth Hospice House in West End, NC. A graveside service will be held at 3PM on Sunday, October 18, 2020 at Open Door Baptist Church with Rev. Nathan Hammill officiating. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall after the service.
Jimmy was born May 17, 1943 in Stanly County to the late James Cleveland Thomas and Beulah Chandler Smith. He was a member of Yadkin Falls Lodge #637 in Badin. Mr. Thomas enjoyed farming, working on tractors and equipment, and tinkering with anything he could get his hands on. He retired as owner and operator of Pat and Micks Fish House in 2014. He was a people person and loved being able to help others.
Mr. Thomas is survived by his wife of 58 years Jan Cagle Thomas; daughter Denene Mills (Michael) of Albemarle; James Derrick Thomas of New London; grandchildren: Ethan Thomas, Erik Thomas, Madelyn Mills. He is preceded in death by brother Sherrill Smith and stepfather Ethan Smith.
