James Lanny Ross, Sr.'s Obituary
James Lanny Ross, Sr., 82, of Badin passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at his home surrounded by family. His funeral service will be held at 2PM on Friday, September 16, 2022 in the Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care chapel. Visitation will be prior from 12:30-1:30PM. Burial will follow at Stanly Gardens of Memory.
Mr. Ross was born November 8, 1939 in Stanly County to the late James Rickard Ross and Mildred Arey Ross. Lanny was a graduate of Badin High School and worked as a mechanic for all his career. He enjoyed camping and going on cruises. Mr. Ross loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them as much as possible. After retirement, Lanny still found himself tinkering and fixing whatever he could.
Lanny is survived by his wife of 52 years Vicki McCubbins Ross of the home; son: Lanny Ross, Jr. (Andrea) of Badin; daughter: LeAnn Nance (Chuck) of Albemarle; grandchildren: Ashley Watson (Cole) of Albemarle, Samantha Ross of Albemarle, Allison Wise (Johnathon) of Albemarle, Amanda Nance of San Diego, CA; great grandchildren: Joshua Morton and Justin Watson; sister: Janelle Bowles, Shirley Hinson. He was proceeded in death by his sister Loretta Brown.
