James Ray Price's Obituary
Mr. James Ray Price, age 69, of Wingate, North Carolina, passed away Friday, September 13, 2013, at the McWhorter Hospice House of Union County.
Services to Celebrate the Life of Mr. Ray Price will be conducted at 6:00 PM Friday, September 20, 2013, at Austin Grove Baptist Church, 5919 Austin Grove Church Road in Marshville, officiated by Reverend Leon Whitley and Reverend Curtis Laney.
The family will receive friends from 4:30 PM until 5:45 PM Friday, prior to the ceremony at Austin Grove.
Mr. Price was born on March 21, 1944, in Union Springs, Alabama, a son of the late Harold Price and Christine Watts Price. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Charles Price and a sister, Willowdean Hall.
He was a retired superintendent with Armor/ Cuddy Foods with over 32 years of service.
Survivors include his wife, Pamela Wakefield Price of Wingate; a son, James Adam Price of Wingate; two daughters, Chris Guffey and husband Jerry Guffey of Monroe, and Penny Helms of Wingate; two grandsons, Carson Guffey of Monroe and Cody Helms of Wingate; two granddaughters, Kaylan Maner and husband Chris Maner of Apex, North Carolina and Cheyanne Helms of Wingate; a brother, Homer Price and wife Linda Price of Holden Beach, North Carolina; and three sisters, Merilyn Culp and husband Ron Culp of Weddington, Lucille English of Wingate and Dorothy Jean (Dot) Driggers of Alabama.
