James Richard Morris' Obituary
James Richard Morris, 94, of Albemarle passed away February 24, 2022 in his home. His funeral service will be at 2 PM on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 in the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Delane Burris and Dr. Darrell Huneycutt officiating. Burial will follow in Stanly Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 1 PM until 2 PM at Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care of Albemarle prior to the service.
Born March 22, 1927 in Stanly County, NC he was the son of the late Cicero Morris and Nellie Russell Morris. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church and a former employee of American and Efird Mills Co. and Stanly Funeral Home. Mr. Morris was a member of Stanly Lodge #348 A. F. & A. M. He served as a Deacon at Grace Baptist Church as well as a former Brotherhood Director and Wednesday Night/Family Night Committee Member.
Mr. Morris is survived by his wife Jane McDowell Morris of the home, daughter Frankie Jo Brandt (Crandall) of Dallas, Georgia, 2 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and a step-daughter Jan Holmes.
