James E. Lilly's Obituary
James E Lilly, 73, of Albemarle, NC passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2016 in his home. His funeral service will be Friday, February 19 at 2:30 PM in the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel with Sam Cummings officiating. The family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral Home from 12PM till 2PM prior to the service.
Born April 30, 1942 in Daniels, West Virginia, he was the son of the late John Willard Lilly and Emma Lee Lilly. James was a former owner of Mattress Outlet and later retired from the furniture industry. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of the Model A Club. James was an avid vintage car enthusiast.
He is survived by his lifelong partner Zane Evans of the home, two sons, Jimmy and Tommy Lilly and two stepsons, Eddie and Kevin Auman, and two daughters, Melody Shortridge and Cindy Phillips. Other survivors include six brothers, Darrell, Eddie, Johnny, Billy, Raymond, and Gary Lilly, five sisters, Judy Lilly, Debbie Hopkins, Linda Hopkins, Margaret Landis, and Sue Shrewsbury. James is also survived by 12 grandchildren.
