James Ernest Lawing, Sr., 73, of Richfield passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2017 in his home.? His funeral service will be 10 AM Saturday, January 28, 2017 in the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jason Carpintero officiating.? Burial will follow in Sharon Memorial Park in Charlotte at 1 PM.? The family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care from 9 AM until 10 AM prior to the funeral service.
Born October 22, 1943 in Mecklenburg County, NC, he was the son of the late Luther Harold Lawing and Mildred Gribble Lawing DeAvies.? He was a retired Heavy Equipment Mechanic with the NC Dept. of Transportation.
Mr. Lawing is survived by son James Ernest Lawing Jr. of Richfield, daughter Cheryl Lawing Paige of New London, 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
