James Stephen Hinson Sr.'s Obituary
James Stephen Hinson, Sr., of New London passed away on Saturday, July 24. 2021 at Atrium Health Stanly. A celebration of life service will be held at 11AM on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at Immanuel Baptist Church officiated by his brother Virgil Hinson. Entombment will follow at Stanly Gardens of Memory. Visitation will be held from 6-8PM on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care of Albemarle.
James was born October 29, 1942 in Stanly County to the late Zeb Hinson and Leria Marbry Hinson. He loved working on the farm and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Mr. Hinson attended Immanuel Baptist Church and was retired from the City of Albemarle as a heavy equipment operator. James enjoyed helping others and giving back to those in need.
Mr. Hinson is survived by his wife of 58 years Linda H. Hinson; son James (Steve) Stephen Hinson, Jr. (Hope) of New London; grandchildren: Holli Hinson, Brittany Hinson, and Michael James Hinson; 6 great-grandchildren; brothers: Joel Hinson (Kay) of Morganton, Virgil Hinson (Debbie) of Norwood; sister: Janice Bost (Sonny) of Norwood. He was preceded in death by his brother Bobby D. Hinson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church at 1309 Old Charlotte Road, Albemarle, NC 28001.
