James Filmore Goins' Obituary
James Filmore Goins, 66, of Albemarle passed away peacefully Sunday, November 15, 2015 in his home surrounded by loved ones.? His family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 6 until 8 pm and are organizing a private service to honor his life at a later date.
Born July 30, 1949 in Stanly County, Jim was the son of the late James Claude ?J.C.? Goins and Kathleen Huneycutt Goins.? He graduated from North Stanly High School, Stanly Community College and was an Army Veteran with service overseas.? Jim grew up in the Methodist church and returned to Stanly County where he founded and owned Jim?s Custom Windows, Inc. for over 30 years.? Although he worked as long as his health allowed, he also was passionate about boating, skiing, fast cars, four wheeling and of course any activity that involved his children and grandchildren.
Mr. Goins is survived by his daughter Courtney Goins Burnside and her husband Brian Burnside of New London and his son Tanner Jamison Goins of Albemarle.? Additionally he survived by his sisters Sherry G. Thomas of New London and Gloria Pearce of Albemarle along with his two grandchildren, Morgan and Brett Burnside.
Jim will be greatly missed by all family and friends who will gather at the home of his daughter Courtney, at 37759 Mountain Creek Rd in New London to celebrate his life.?
