James Eugene Canup's Obituary
James Eugene Canup, 51, of Albemarle passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 in Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center. His funeral service will be at 1 PM on Monday, June 5, 2023 at Canton Baptist Church with Pastor Curtis Williams presiding. Burial will follow in the Canton Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care of Albemarle on Sunday evening from 3 until 5 PM.
Born July 8, 1971 in Goldsboro, NC he was the son of the Gene Canup and Christine Wilson Canup of Salisbury. He was a member of Canton Baptist Church and a Building Inspector with the City of Charlotte.
He was preceded in death by his wife Tonnie Deleslyn Love Canup in 2018. In addition to his parents he is survived by a son Collin Canup of Kentucky, sister Cynthia Coleman (Bob) of Salisbury and a number of nieces and nephews.
